The Golden Ratio
Start with 60g of coffee per litre of water (roughly 1:16) and adjust to taste.
Grind Fresh
Grind just before brewing. Coarse for French press, medium for pour-over, fine for espresso.
Mind the Water
Use filtered water at 92–96°C. Water is 98% of your cup.

French Press
Full-bodied and forgiving — the perfect place to start.

- Add 30g coarse coffee to the press.
- Pour 450g water just off the boil (93°C).
- Stir gently and place the lid, plunger up.
- Steep for 4 minutes, then press slowly.
- Decant immediately so it doesn’t over-extract.
Espresso
Intense, syrupy and the base of every milk drink.

- Dose 18g into the portafilter.
- Distribute and tamp level with firm pressure.
- Lock in and start the shot.
- Aim for ~36g out in 25–30 seconds.
- Adjust grind finer if too fast, coarser if too slow.
V60
Clean, bright and aromatic — showcases single origins.

- Rinse the filter and pre-heat the dripper.
- Add 20g coffee; save 320g water at 94°C.
- Bloom with 50g water for 40 seconds.
- Pour in slow spirals to 320g total.
- Total brew time ~2:45–3:15.
Chemex
The thick filter gives an exceptionally clean, tea-like cup.

- Place the filter thick-side to the spout; rinse well.
- Add 30g coffee for 480g water.
- Bloom 60g water for 45 seconds.
- Pour in stages, keeping the bed level.
- Finish draw-down by ~4 minutes.
Aeropress
Versatile, travel-friendly and remarkably smooth.

- Insert filter, rinse, add 16g coffee.
- Pour 220g water at 85°C.
- Stir 10 seconds, insert plunger to seal.
- Wait 1 minute, then press gently for 30 seconds.
- Dilute to taste for a longer drink.
Moka Pot
Stovetop intensity — rich, bold and nostalgic.

- Fill the base to the valve with hot water.
- Fill the basket with coffee, level, don’t tamp.
- Assemble and set on medium heat, lid open.
- When it gurgles and lightens, remove from heat.
- Cool the base briefly to stop extraction.
Cold Brew
Smooth, low-acidity and refreshing over ice.

- Combine 100g coarse coffee with 800g cold water.
- Stir to saturate fully.
- Steep 16 hours at room temp or in the fridge.
- Strain through a filter.
- Serve over ice, dilute to taste.
Turkish
Unfiltered, aromatic and steeped in ritual.

- Add 7g extra-fine coffee per cup to the cezve.
- Add cold water and sugar to taste.
- Heat slowly, never stirring after it warms.
- Let the foam rise, remove before boiling.
- Pour gently; let the grounds settle before sipping.
