Great coffee deserves a great brew. Our Brewing Academy shares the methods, ratios and rituals that turn Coffee Vibes beans into an unforgettable cup — whether you brew with a French press, pour-over, moka pot, AeroPress or espresso machine.

The Golden Ratio

Start with 60g of coffee per litre of water (roughly 1:16) and adjust to taste.

Grind Fresh

Grind just before brewing. Coarse for French press, medium for pour-over, fine for espresso.

Mind the Water

Use filtered water at 92–96°C. Water is 98% of your cup.

French Press

Full-bodied and forgiving — the perfect place to start.

  1. Add 30g coarse coffee to the press.
  2. Pour 450g water just off the boil (93°C).
  3. Stir gently and place the lid, plunger up.
  4. Steep for 4 minutes, then press slowly.
  5. Decant immediately so it doesn’t over-extract.

Espresso

Intense, syrupy and the base of every milk drink.

  1. Dose 18g into the portafilter.
  2. Distribute and tamp level with firm pressure.
  3. Lock in and start the shot.
  4. Aim for ~36g out in 25–30 seconds.
  5. Adjust grind finer if too fast, coarser if too slow.

V60

Clean, bright and aromatic — showcases single origins.

  1. Rinse the filter and pre-heat the dripper.
  2. Add 20g coffee; save 320g water at 94°C.
  3. Bloom with 50g water for 40 seconds.
  4. Pour in slow spirals to 320g total.
  5. Total brew time ~2:45–3:15.

Chemex

The thick filter gives an exceptionally clean, tea-like cup.

  1. Place the filter thick-side to the spout; rinse well.
  2. Add 30g coffee for 480g water.
  3. Bloom 60g water for 45 seconds.
  4. Pour in stages, keeping the bed level.
  5. Finish draw-down by ~4 minutes.

Aeropress

Versatile, travel-friendly and remarkably smooth.

  1. Insert filter, rinse, add 16g coffee.
  2. Pour 220g water at 85°C.
  3. Stir 10 seconds, insert plunger to seal.
  4. Wait 1 minute, then press gently for 30 seconds.
  5. Dilute to taste for a longer drink.

Moka Pot

Stovetop intensity — rich, bold and nostalgic.

  1. Fill the base to the valve with hot water.
  2. Fill the basket with coffee, level, don’t tamp.
  3. Assemble and set on medium heat, lid open.
  4. When it gurgles and lightens, remove from heat.
  5. Cool the base briefly to stop extraction.

Cold Brew

Smooth, low-acidity and refreshing over ice.

  1. Combine 100g coarse coffee with 800g cold water.
  2. Stir to saturate fully.
  3. Steep 16 hours at room temp or in the fridge.
  4. Strain through a filter.
  5. Serve over ice, dilute to taste.

Turkish

Unfiltered, aromatic and steeped in ritual.

  1. Add 7g extra-fine coffee per cup to the cezve.
  2. Add cold water and sugar to taste.
  3. Heat slowly, never stirring after it warms.
  4. Let the foam rise, remove before boiling.
  5. Pour gently; let the grounds settle before sipping.
